Our founders, Hardy J. Rideout, PhD and Alexia V. Polissidis, PhD, bring with them a wealth of knowledge and expertise in preclinical <em>in vitro<\/em> and <em>in vivo<\/em> neurodegeneration research. Driven by a shared vision, they established Anacalypsis Therapeutics in 2019 and began their journey in the enter\u2022grow\u2022go (egg) business incubation and subsequently in the scale-up acceleration program, to solve the unique challenges faced by people suffering from neurodegeneration. We are dedicated to bridging the gap between research and clinical practice by concurrently developing gene-based therapeutics and biomarkers. Our journey has been marked by remarkable milestones, including the discovery in 2020 of our lead therapeutic\u2019s (AT001) efficacy in preclinical models. In 2021, we developed a state of the art prototype for a cutting-edge multiplex biomarker assay- the PDplex. The following year, Dr. Rideout received a prestigious biomarkers grant from the Michael J Fox Foundation (MJFF) to develop biomarkers supporting clinical trials. Today, we proudly celebrate our latest achievement\u2014the launch of our new collaboration with Columbia University and moving into our own private laboratory space at ELPEN\u2019s Experimental, Research and Training Center in Athens.
